I started out as a comic artist at 2000AD on Judge Dredd in 1989 which then led on to illustration and concept design work for film, television and for numerous high profile publications. My work may be best known in the USA for my work for Magic The Gathering and illustrating the book The Horror Stories of Robert E Howard.
I regularly work with great film directors as a concept artist and was the lead costume concept artist for the Oscar winning costume designer Mayes C. Rubeo illustrating Brad Pitts outfits for World War Z. Amongst many other high profile film and tv projects I was a founder and co-director of visual effects company ARK VFX, a boutique animation studio which evolved into a directing partnership. This led to directing various television commercials and most notably a music video for the band, Muse.
my recent book Judge Dredd: Dark Justice saw me return to my traditional roots and received many accolades for its intricate hand painted artwork.
I work remotely from a cozy and fully facilitated studio but also work in house when the project requires it.
In 2016 I completed working as Principal concept artist on Dead Island 2 and recently completed two months concept design work on Hellboy (2019) . I’m currently working on a series of officially licensed Universal Monster prints being sold through Bottleneck Gallery and Sideshow.
